Penrith Basketball are excited to announce that we have been granted a License to compete in the 2023 NBL1 East competition for Men and Women.

Our Association is excited for this opportunity which creates a pathway from grass roots to a national level competition, not only for our athletes and those from the broader basketball communities but also for our coaches, officials and technical officials.

The Coles Express NBL1 East will expand to a 16-club competition in 2023.

Penrith is pleased to announce the Panther teams coaching appointments of Jarrod Moore (Men) and Bernie Slattery (Women). Both coaches are highly qualified and dedicated coaches who have established a strong relationship at Penrith and will bring quality, experience and knowledge to both teams.

Jarrod led our division 1 Youth League Men to a Championship title in 2022 and has developed a great rapport with our athletes. He has been heavily involved in coaching and education programs with coaches from all over Australia for the past 5 years as well as international guest coaches.

Bernie brings a wealth of experience from his previous coaching roles in WNBL, SEABL, NSW State Teams, BNSW ITC Head Coach (now HPP) and NSW Director of Coaching. It will be a great opportunity for female athletes to be guided and developed by a coach with such vast knowledge and experience at this level.

The first round of selection trials for the NBL 1 East program will be held at the PVRSC:
